Have aset of 18.4-34 rear tires wiyh @2400 Hrs. on them. Still have 1/2-3/4" of tread on the center more as you go toward the side Put a 1" cut in the tread of one side this afternoon $ 175.00 to repair incudes road trip $470.00 to replace .I don t know anything about either of these brands and cannot get my origional Please send ideas.

As the others said, if you go new, both must be done together. I would probably repair, provided the casings look good. If they are getting badly cracked, or the rot is setting in, they are likely to give more trouble soon, so replacement would be cheaper. I have found Galaxy OK. From what I hear, they use a GoodYear casing, and I like goodyear casings. I just hate their treads. HTH.

jw57, In 96 I put a set of Galaxys on my 966...Size 18.4x34 They have been good, No complaints. Galaxy made there name in the industrial tractor tire market. But like Rustyfarmall said you need to do both at the same time.

Unless you are ready to replace both rear tires, I think repairing the damaged one would be the way to go. Putting a brand new tire on one side with a half worn out tire on the other side is not a good idea.
