Pretty neat - maybe I can do something similar next yr. for the local lighted parade. I like the idea of chaser lites on the wheels.

We just had a Christmas parade here at Vincennes University were I am president of the diesel club. We had a float pulled with a new John Deere 7000 series and we had lights all over it. We outlined everthing and covered the lights with green reynolds wrap. We had icicle lights running the full lenght of the fram on the tractor and red lights around the hood and cab. I looked really cool. He had icicle lights along the trailer and powered it with a generator. Looked really neat and got alot of attention. Maybe I can get a picture to post. It is worth the time it takes to put the lights on and you can really show off at night.

Pardner, you got way too much time on your hands.

But it does look cool.

Cheers,
Tom

I always wanted to light up the ol' Farmall H, but I just couldn't bring myself to hook it up with a string of lights that had green in it...just didn't seem right, any more than lightin' up a Deere with a string that had red bulbs in it...that wouldn't work, either. Maybe I could just get a few farmers together, and make a Christmas tree out of red and green tractors...THAT might work!

Sounds like a good original idea. If you get it done share a picture with us. It doesn't take long to do this until you get really involved and the store opens with a sale on Christmas lights and you have to go to town anyway so you return with a bag full of more light. You ccan never have enough lights. This picture is what it looked like the other day. Now the wheels move and I have lights moving backwards infront of the moldboards to look tike it is really plowing. Wish I could post a video.

Nice job! What did you stick the lights on the paint with? Did you use chasers on the wheels? I love putting lights on tractors. Not sure why the look so good with xmas lights but they do!

I used masking tape to put the lights on the pinted surfaces and duct tape for the tires and the plow. I didn't use chasers (yet). I am going to look for a set of all red ones for the wheels this morning. My grandpa and I decorate a tractor every year. I hooked up a plow to decorate for the first time. I am pleased with how it turned out. I don't like the fact that my baby has to set outside though. It'll be sure to get a nice coat of wax after Christmas. Thanks for the reply and if any of you guys decorate tractors or combines or whatever post a picture for us. Happy Holidays.

Chris,

Nice!!

You just brought back fond memories of the thousands of hours I spent riding one of those old gals.

I can still hear that old thing a singin' to this day. What did they turn? About 900 wide open?

Thanks for the shot,

Allan
