H rear axel keyways

Need new keyways on both sides.The ones the came off of it are tappered and all I can find locally is square stock.Will the square stock work? I think the original ones where of cast. ???

I think Gary is calling keys, keyways. The slot is the "way" that the key fits in.

Yes,That is correct. Let me try to explain it in another way. The key in the axel shaft is tappered in thickness and Not in lenth and also the Way is tappered the same. I need to find some new keys

The axel keyway ,is it the same width on both ends ? if not its is worn . a good machine shop can cut you a new keyway ,for both the axe and the hub.
