He said he could not cash it and said he would send the money order back to me.He has quit answering my emails. I thought about telling the post office but I was told they won't do anything. Your Post Office can find out if a Money Order has been cashed with one Phone call. If they say they can't, they are lying. Then refer the case to your States Attorney and the Postal Security Office.Don't deal through the Post Office, Most of them are useless. Good Luck.

I never got a money order that a man sent me a while back. He just went to the postoffice, had payment stopped and then had a 2nd one issued. Seems like you can get your money back if he has not cashed it. If he has cashed it then you go after him fo fraud.

If I KNEW he had ripped me off, I'd be sitting about 4oo yds away, with a Good Rifle and Scope...

Well Ron I must say that your attitude gives the people who favor gun control all the amunition ( no pun intended) to keep pushing for it. Sure glad you don't live by me.

You would shoot and possibly kill someone over his ripping you off for $50? It might be a good time for you to reassess your priorities and judgment.

I would check your email account for anything that may indicate that he agreed to the transaction. If you have his address, send him a copy of the email that has an agreement for money and parts... Ask him if he wants to keep the copy and send the part because you have enclosed a copy of the money order or should you pursue further action and send your letter by snail mail and get it certified/registered.
Seems like it is time to draw the line. Good luck

You might consider offering to him by e-mail to post his name, address and e-mail address on every open discussion board you visit. Especially the ones the pornographic spammers seem to draw their lists from. Un-ethical yes uncalled for NO.

If you have the receipt check and see if there is a number you can call to see if its been cashed. Do you have any evidence of this transaction, other than "I said, He said"?

Good luck, Fireman

I have been told, as the others mentioned, that the standard M.O. from the USPS (the one with the green trim) is not good outside the US. If you have your reciept, you should be able to go to the P.O., stop payment and get a refund if it hasn't been cashed.

I'm not quite sure what good sending the money order back to you would have done, it would be made out in his name would it not? Could you get a refund on it? I'm not sure about that part. I have been told (living in Canada) that you should always ask for an "International Money Order" to be sent to us up here (from the states). I've received them and never had any problems cashing them. There are different colors apparently, have you ever heard of that? The international ones are supposedly a different color for whatever reason. Not that it's going to do you much good now but maybe for future stuff.

Well then, I can't imagine what his problem is. But like I said before, I would be going to the post office to see about stopping payment and getting a refund for the cash value of the M.O..

If you sent him the pink one, then he cashed it. I do buisness all the time through ebay and that is the only MO that is good here, the international pink one.

#1 Go to the post office and get them to run it through and see if it has been cashed, if it has not, they will give you your money back.

#2 if it has been cashed, get a copy of the cashed mo, or a something else official from them stating its cashed. scan it and send an email to the guy proving he cashed it and saying if you don't get a reply you will forward this info to the local authorities.

#3 still no responce, call him. you have his name and address, the operator will give you his home number. At least you can give him a peice of your mind.

Do not let people get away with this stuff, and please don't blame it on canadians, there are bad apples everywhere. I would even consider swapping steps #2 and #3, a phone conversation telling him you have proof he cashed it should be enough to either get your part or your money back, most guys get scared when you call them, lets them know they arn't hard to find.

Has he cashed the MO yet? If he has what Province is he in? Some Provinces have Provincial Police forces that you can contact about it,others use the RCMP. Just make sure you can document everything before you even begin.....
