I dont want to sound like a jerk,, but obviously you felt it was worth 750 or you wouldnt have paid that for it,, I figure the worth of something is what you are willing to give for it...I paid 100 bucks for my H, it had bad tires and hadnt ran in 20 years,,I had it running in 20 minutes and have only had to put tires on it,,but that is a rare occasion, 750 sounds ok to me...Jim

$700 to $800 for a running H with useable tires and a 3 point hitch sounds like the going rate. You didn't get took, but sounds like you paid what it is worth. Should be able to get a new battery, used generator from salvage yard, and gasket/seal for the oil leak for less than $100, plus the labor if you hire the wrenching done. Alot cheaper to do the wrenching yourself.

You paid way to much.
With the rotted tires on it, the missing grill and hood, the car muffler you have to replace, the shot generater, missing fenders, the cracked right rear wheel and horriable paint job with blue paint will cost you a bunch to fix up.
You should have paid only $100.00-$125.00 for it.

You're like most of us, we don't really want to know if we got gyped, we just want to hear somebody else tell us that we got a good deal (which I think you were aware of). I think the post below that mentions it's only $750 so how could a guy really get gyped? It's not like you bought a clay teapot at a garage sale for that much money. Now that the country is bankrupt and the dollar is dropping (and the Euro is soaring), your $750 is peanuts Kyle.

That is a good price with a 3 point! Dead battery and a oil leak aren't that big of a deal.
Enjoy tinkering with it and enjoy!

Another sad case of buyers remorse. I will never understand why these questions are ever posted. You bought a tractor. You must have liked it when you bought it. Why are you second guessing yourself now? Just how much could you have been "gipped" out of? $750??? Not hardly. The tractor has some value. Point is, you can always find some jerk to tell you ya paid to much. Could be you did. But you have a nice tractor and working on it and with it will give you a lot of pleasure over the years. So, forget about about it and move on. Enjoy your nice tractor!!

Kile, What difference does it make what we think. Whats important is what you think. Don't worry what any one here may say. Just fix what needs fixing, do whatever work you want on it to make it the way you want it and enjoy it. If you need questions asked on how to do something, I'm sure the folks here will be more than happy to help you.
