Had a phone call about 20 minutes ago, from an AT&T service operator for those who have a hearing or speech disability. (the operator serves as a go between) She said there was someone on the other line who wished to speak to me, but it was all through the operator, who read what he typed to me, and typed what I said to him. He was interested in a part I have for sale, wanted the final price, and wouldn't give me information about shipping. Said he had his own shipping company who could take care of it. He never answered how exactly He was going to get it from my house. Anyway, he then said his business associate would send me a draft for $2500 and forward the rest to him.....you guys know the rest. Same thing as the E mail scams...thought I'd let you all know. Oh yeah, and everything they wanted to know about, they ised the word "inquiry." Now I use that word too, but, I can remember the Scam E mails I would get, and they all used "inquiry" in them too. That was the first thing that alerted me. Maybe this was a coincidence, and I just hung up on a poor guy, but I certainly don't think it was....be careful, those guys are low..... AC

This one has been around a while now. Tell them they need to send it to your work addy....
FBI headquarters.....
They will probably hang up on you (as long as they are paying for the call!)

They will find another way when this scam is past it's sell-by date. Remember, one person's hard-earned cash amounts to a FORTUNE for them.
We get loads of cold callers from double glazing firms. If time to fill, string them along for a while, then ask them why you should change the windows you only had fitted last week or tell them your house is a 'listed' building (can't make any alterations to the original theme, 200 years old....), and they soon lose interest.
Now.....if everybody they rang just left the line 'open' (didn't hang up but just get on with other things) they would very shortly run out of lines to use. Interesting thought..... .
Regards, RAB

I haven't had the ATT scam yet, but what I like to do with the E.Mail scams which I recieve 3 or 4 per day is to forward one scammers mail to the other scammers. Another thing is to, if I have time, is to reply saying that since they have all this money they need to dispose of, that our U.S. Treasury could certainly use whatever they can spare and so I'm forwarding their offer to the F.B.I., and other Treasury Dept agencies for consideration. Folks, the way see it is that the Bull can go both ways, so why not spread some in the scammers back yards. Why should we be the only ones to be annoyed? This can apply to any unsolicited E.Mail, phone calls or postal mail. I've many times stuffed return postage paid envelopes with anything that will fit into the envelop including someone elses solicitations. just remove anything that has my name on it. I've left phone solicitors on the line excusing myself while I go get my hearing aid, and let them see how long its going to take before they realize I aint comming back. We do not have to succumb to these scammers even if they win the bid in an auction. While they do seem to target Big ticket items such as tractors, cars, trucks, boats and such, There's nothing saying that we cant give them a dose of their own medicine by occupying a lot of their time sifting thru some mularky themnselves.
