I have a MTD ride on that the starter switch has died on.
A new one is about £20, so i thought i'd just put in a toggle switch, to switch the ignition on/off, and a push switch to turn the engine over.

It surprised m to find 6 wires on the switch!

Am i just dum, or are some of them for sensors, (seat etc.)i have

2 red
1 black
2 yellow
1 green

couls anyone tell me which ones i need to solder onto each of the switches!

thanks in advance

You don't say what kind of engine you have, but on some Kohler engines the ignition switch has to break the charging curcuit before it stops the engine. If you put a toggle switch on you will short out the charging system and have more problems. Better buy the right switch.
