I was interested in the posts about scrap prices a while back and China's influence. Their is an excellent article in the latest National Geographic about China. Its a must read. Here is a country on the edge. Terrible pollution (air, water, and soil). If they have to start buying more of their food the world can't grow enough to satisfy them.

I just read a article in our local paper.
It seems Brazil will soon be the bread basket of the world. They have more Soybeans growing right now than there is tillable land in the US and many many more on the way.
Plus they get 3 crops a year. All they have to do now is get the paved road finnished to be on top of the game.
Land is/ was cheap $150 acre + labor at $1 hr.
Looks like the rest of the world better find some thing other than Soybeans to make any money on.

Kind of reminds me as to what happened with Japan, they bought all of our scrap metal proir to WW2 and then turned around and used this same metal to start the war. Maybe a lesson in this for all of us.

China is the only country that really is a threat to the world. They could start a war and loose 1/2 of their population and it wouldn't matter, infact they would be better off. And their government wouldn't care.
