such novices!! A veritable green acres couple! We have a working Farmall Cub in very good condition. Have an offer to trade it for a Farmall Super C also in good working condition. Will the Super C have more power?? The Cub can't quite get thru the high grass to mow and we are doubtful it could do any plowing for a garden. Any advice??

All of the responses are right on the money EXCEPT "farmall04" below. Either he doesn't know or is pulling someone's leg.
The Super C is one of the handiest tractors ever manufactured. It is also one of the best. Trying to compare a Cub and a Super C is like trying to compare apples to oranges. Doing some tractor work today and mentioned to my son that of all the tractors I own, the Super C is the "keeper" if I could only have one.

farmall04-a Super C is much more tractor than a Cub.

I concure with Dave 2N, Cub drawbar hp 10, PTO HP is 11 , 3 speed trany, where as the Super C is 20.7 HP at the drawbar,23.67 at the PTO, with 4 speed trans. like Dave said " apples to oranges".

The Farmall Super C is one of the handiest small farm tractors ever made.

Cubs are cute, but a Super C is a real tractor.
I would trade 2 Cubs for one good Super C.

The super C is alot more tractor than the cub and certainly will be stronger at mowing, plowing, etc.Do not know how much land you are trying to maintain, but keep in mind the Super C is physically about twice the size of cub and is a rowcrop so it sits alot higher. If it has fast hitch thats a big plus though fast hitch implements can be tough to find in some areas. We have had two Super C's on our farm since the late 50's and they are great little tractors.

The SuperC is a lot more tractor than the Cub. The Cub is good from a collectors standpoint but it seems the Super C is getting to be also. For a working tractor-all things equal conditionwise-I would go with the Super C myself.

Did a little checking on Machinery Links. The Cub comes in at 10.8 HP--The Super C at 23.7 HP. Again I say use your own judgement as to what you want or need.

the cub could do a very limited amount of plowing however the super c may have a little more power probably not enough to mention though.
