I recently purchased a 2 row corn planter to increase the draw potential of my land. I plan on planting corn on my property.

When I bought the corn planter, it came with about a dozen different plates. Some are metal with John Deere plate numbers and some are plastic. Some of the metal seed plate numbers are in the manual for the planter so I can tell what seed plates they are. The plastic ones have numbers on them but how do I know who makes them and what seeds they are for?

This planter is suppose to plant just about everything but without knowing what seed plates to use they are useless.

Any idea where I can find this info?

Thanks

I know this is after the fact. The plastic plates are from Linclon Ag Products. try thier website at Link I also have a cross reference chart if you can"t find one on the website.

The seed corn bag has a chart on the back that will tell you which plate to use.

If you want to check before planting season most seed dealers probably have a chart in their office.

Is your planter a 3 point hitch
we acguired a planter to plant sweet corn it does not have a model number on it. it is a 3point hitch with each unit self driven by the press wheel. Is this something like yours.

Thanks

When you buy seed corn to be used with a plate planter, the recommended plate number is on the bag.

Your seed supplier should know the correct plate to use as the seed is graded by size to fit a specific plate in plate type planters. Some of the newer non-plate type planters ungraded seed where seed size dosen't matter.

Lincon Ag products still sells almost any plate you will need.

I believe the plate number references 3 measurements in 32nds of an inch - with, thickness and depth.
