I have posted this question on other sites and no one has even responded any thing. I really need to know if a PTO can be installed on a Minn. Mo G-1000 wheatland that did not come factory equiped. If is can be done is it expensive, hard to find the parts, and dificult to do. I know some other modles this can be done and have on a case years ago. Thank's to anyone that responds.

Been doing some research on this (pulled out my 'never used' service manual). It shows a splined hub which bolts to the engine crankshaft (so you will have to do a split at the clutch). There is a shaft that runs back through the transmission case into the front of the differential assembly (so you will have to remove top of transmission and pull both rear axles).

Fit the pto hydraulic clutch pack into the top of the transmission differential housing and plumb to hydraulic system.

Then make necessary mods to back end of tractor to get pto shaft there.

Based on a used parts guide I have you are looking at about $800-1200 in parts. Based on the labor guide for R&R each component and multiplying times 125% (for extra time needed in conversions) you are looking at about 110 hours of labor.

Sounds to me like you have a great tractor to pull a hay rake with and need one with live PTO to run your mower and baler.

My Dad has the same tractor. We looked at doing what you want to do. It can be done, it's not easy. The best way to do it would be to find one in a boneyard with the PTO shafts, and get everything you need from that tractor. If I remember correctly installation will require splitting the tractor and also removing the side of the differential case.

So to answer your questions in order:

Yes, it can be done.

Yes, it probably will be expensive, even with junkyard stuff.

No, parts shouldn't be too hard to find.

Yes, it will be difficult and labor intensive.

I asked the same thing on a G-705 some years ago and was told it could be done but requires disassembly of the entire rear end, pulling both axles etc. Have you asked on the MM board? there are some sharp and good guys there. Best of luck.

I know absolutely nothing about any of the MM tractors but I can tell you it wont be quick, simple, or easy even if it is possible (nothing of this magnitude is).

If you need a tractor to get hay in forget about this one except to pull a rake for this year.

Just so you'll get one response. I'm sorry I can't help you. Maybe that's why no one else responded. We all like to offer help if we can, even if a lot of people never bother with letting us know if we gave good advice or not.
