I have a John Deere pedal tractor from 1955 or 1960. It is cast-iron and has all of it's parts. Can you tell me what it is worth?

The dealer owns the facilities, but does not own the contract. As the dealer facility sale was not concluded, John Deere could not award the contract to the person trying to purchase the dealership. The only problem here is between the current owners and the prospective purchaser.

"A retired employee of John Deere, Kenny Edwards, entered into an agreement to purchase two dealerships, Linke said. John Deere consented to Mr. Edwards' purchase of the dealerships subject to terms and conditions that were agreed to in writing by Deere, Mr. Edwards and the independent owners. The independent owners later withdrew the offer to sell. Also, as a matter of public record, Mr. Edwards has now brought legal action against the independent owners."

Sounds like the owners backed out of the deal and Mr Edwards is suing everyone in site. Buying a John Deere dealership agreement is extremely difficult, a exam from a proctologist is less invasive.

There's an official comment on Deere's corporate website, explaining the situation, JD's policy regarding dealership contracts and denying any wrongdoing on their part.

Probably just a rumor, even if it is not,it would certainly be a conflict of interest, that the SEC would frown upon.
