What is the probability of damaging a 3500# tractor by using a small/medium three point hitch backhoe on it? I've heard of tractors being broken in half by backhoes and don't want to ruin my 354 International with one. I have no loader or subframe to reinforce the tractor. I'm looking at one with a self contained hydraulics, the owner says it weighs about 1000 pounds. I tried it out on my tractor, but was nervous the whole time because of possible damage. Has anyone had positive or negative experience with a setup like this. Thanks for any insight
Gene

Ran a 3 point "Long" back hoe years ago. I would say that it is all in how you run it. Don't "bang" it around. They are sure handy to have around.

A farm I worked on had one on a 4000 ford and no problems tractor handled it just fine. Just don't try and bite more than the tractor can handle. And add a little wieght to front to hold her down.
