Kim,

How long you going to make us sweat through the vote? When's it over?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, I went over there, registered, and tried it out. I don't care for it. I don't have that kind of time or patience to play with stuff like that. Count me out of that thing. If goes that way and I really, really need something, well, might go there long enough to try it again, unless my head explodes in the process. To the end user, newer is not always better, and doesn't always get the job done. When I have to start working around or for the tool, the tool is gone.

Mark.

I just came from there. If adopted, it will take some getting used to. Has some nice features, but the detail makes the posts lengthy; course if detail is what the majority wants, so be it.

I'm not sure I want the world to know any personal info about me including my picture so I didn't supply and therefore none will show up.

Other thing I noticed is that it's awkward figuring out where you are on the thread. On this site, it's a piece of cake to know where you are and to whom you are responding about what.

I do like the one button submittal rather than selecting the topic and pushing enter (2 button submittal).

Oh well, we have a month to play with it.

Mark

Mark;
I asked Kim about the vote on the other forum.

She responded by saying that the vote going on now was to see if it was worth her time to install the new software. Since there was enough Yes votes she went ahead and installed it.

She said that she will allow us to use and try it out for about a month and then at that time will start a new vote to see if we want to keep it.

Personally I like the little picture thingy and the address or location line. But other than that I am happy with the old set up. I can see what I have read and not read easier.

Kim also said that she could take good points of one software and add it to the other software if we would like. Think that is what we will wind up with in the long run. It will take a large vote to find out all the particulars of what we like but in the long run we could have the best of both worlds. That would be extra work for Kim but she has said she may do it.

My vote still goes to what ever is best for KIM.

Thanks Kim for making this site even better.

txblu,

What changes are you speaking of? I know there is talk of another forum design but I haven't seen much on it.

For one I like the forum that lists who has responded without having to open each post (the expand button).

Thanks

"Change is inevitable"!

I've been involved in so many things in life, where change was given as an option, and have learned that it USUALLY is NOT an option.

95% of the time change occurs even when the people affected by the change prefer that it did not!

Usually, any statement of "OK, we'll leave it as it is" is followed by the change being made anyway, a short time later. And, who knows, it may be for the better!

It's Kim's toy, and we'll have to "play" with it in the manner she lets us!

Well, I feel like she is a doin this (site) for us and if she didn't value our opinion, she wouldn't have asked.

Besides as far as I know she's running one of the hottest and most frequently visited links in the business. Must be doing something right. And the visitors must like it. Now me. I hate it. My wife makes me do this. LOL.
