You might be an equipment jockey if:

You've ever owned the same tractor more that 3 non concecutive times

Strangers approach you and greet you with "I've seen you at sales"

You're idea of a family vacation involves an auction

You drive through small towns on your way home with a load of purchases and the guys hanging out in front of the local gas station point at you and talk among themselves.

Those same guys at the gas station give you the thumbs up when they realize you caught them looking

You've ever used a wide load sign to hide the fact that you never got around to renewing the license plate on your truck

You've ever had an overdraft at the bank that exceeded your annual income

Your harvest has ever been delayed because somebody came along wanting to buy a combine and the one you were using was the only one on the place that ran

You're on the mailing list of more than 15 auctioneers

You go to a farm sale 3 states away and the auctioneer calls you by your first name

All the calenders in your house came from auction companies

You get calls on Christmas day about a tractor you forgot was advertised somewhere.

You just sold the same 4020 to three different guys in three different states and are madly looking for two more tractors before they catch up to you. Your name might be Dusty Covalt.

the auctioneer comes over to where you are busy loading and it is getting dark and you haven't settled yet and says, "do you want me to just send you a bill in the mail?"

When you load the trailer to make a delivery, then return home (every time!) with more "stuff" than you left with.

When an auctioneer holds up the start of a sale because you're not there yet.

AND, Whenother jockey's start showing up at your place to buy equipment because "you bought it all". John

Or when you go for a no they just hand you one with out asking for ID. Or when you go to settle up & find several things on your bill you didn't bid on The auctioneer just puts them on you because he knew if you had been standing there you would have bid

You have so many red tractors in front of you house people stop and walk in your front door looking for the sale's office because they think you are a IH dealership.
