I just discovered that there is a Westendorf distributor about 5 minutes from my tractor lot where I sell refurbished x000 and x600 series Fords. I have been using Ezee-On"s loaders with good success, but after looking at Westendorf"s catalogue, I"m leaning toward them. Ezee-on just doesn"t offer all of the innovations that Westendorf offers.

However, looks can be deceiving. Can anybody on here attest to their reliability, strength, etc.?

I appreciate everyone's input! You have all been very helpful. We're most likely going to go with Westendorf then.

Westendorf has always been the the top of the line in ag loaders. They are the only loader with an I-beam inside their loader arms. They were the original innovator of the quick-detach loader years ago and now every one has copied there design. Not the cheapest, just the best.

Westendorf is top of the line in my opinion. Several guys around here have asked me about loaders. I always recommend the Westendorf. No I am not a dealer either. If they know what they are looking at they will buy one. If they are looking to save money and don"t care if they get a good loader they can use and take off easily, they buy something else. I have a Westendorf Landscraper (Box Blade) with hydraulic tilt. One of the best pieces of equipment I ever bought or used.

Tim,

We have a Westendorf TA-29 on our 1855 Oliver and it is a very strong loader, I am very impressed with it. The neighbor also has a TA-26 on his 706 Farmall and he has had it on there for 20+ years and it has been a super loader. I also like that I can change buckets with the neighbor and it just takes a second to switch buckets.

I will say that the weak point in the loader system is in the mounts. We both have had problems breaking the loader mounts and have had to reweld them before, but never a weld on the loader itself. And yes it will easily pick the front end of the 1855 off the ground and will lift over 3000# before the hydraulics on the tractor quit.

The TA-29 is about 3 years old now and I paid about $6,000 for it installed from the dealer.

My friend has a Westendorf on his 2630 JD. It is his only loader and he has done everything with it. As far as I know there in not a weld on it. I have used it a lot moving and feeding hay and really like the quick attach brackets and that it does not have to have a stand to remove from the tractor. Great Loader.

I really likr the Westendorf loaders - father has had one for 25 years - front cylinders leak now - a WL 42 on an 806

I have a TA 26 on my MFWD White 2-75 - the fact that the bucket can be dropped or picked off in seconds is the best deal -

Does the loader seem good and strong? Will it pick your tractor up no problem? Just out of curiousity, what did you have to pay for that TA-26?

Westendorf loaders are built in Onawa, Iowa. I have visited the plant and it is a very large and impressive facility. They didn"t get to be that size by building shoddy equipment. The Westendorf seems to be the first choice around here. And no, I do not work for them nor am I a dealer.

"They didn"t get to be that size by building shoddy equipment"

That"s about the impression that I got. I was just looking on Ezee-On"s website and their loaders almost seem plain-Jane compared to the Westendorf.

Thanks for your input.
