I am guessing that LOL means Lots of Luck, is that right? And BTW means By The Way, right or wrong? What other ones of those things are there? I see a lot of them here at YT and I have no idea what they mean. Maybe you could add one or two yourself.

Sounds like a tool for putting in bearings. At least that is what a bearing represenative told us one time, that they used in another shop.

That reminds me of one time in the Army AG corp. There were standard abbreviations galore. One was COB(close of business); someone wrote a note to the General and use the abbreviation SOB(start of business). The General wasn't pleased to put it mildly. That abbreviation ceased that very day. The internet abbreviations were started by kids seeking to quickly chat and it expanded across the entire net. And we blame the schools for thier poor spelling?

Don't blame the schools, blame the parents. I said above that I don't like abbreviations, that's because I feel that spelling out, just as spelling correctly, are key in getting your point across in a clear and concise manner.

I was actually posting the huge list as an example of how lazy our culture has become.

Good point if you are a totally literal person who likes to pick the nit. 'MI' is however an official abbreviation and has so for managed to not only differentiate myself from the other Chucks out there, but gives myself a geographical orientation that is handy on this forum.

I would however not stoop to the level to use any of the following: Mi, mi, Mi., mi., Mich, mich, Mich., mich...as creating your own abbreviations out of laziness or ignorance leads to chaos. :)

Oh yeah, that's why I abbreviated, because there is a maximum number of characters allowed in the handle.
