Round-up (glyphosate) is a non-selective, short residual herbicide. It will kill just about anything plant wise (unless you are in an area that has resistant weeds, see this page: http://www.weedscience.org/Summary/UspeciesMOA.asp?lstMOAID=12&FmHRACGroup=Go). Garden wise, if you apply it to the area ahead of time by a couple days before planting, or if your very careful spraying only weeds, you should be okay. As for human consumption you"d have to drink quite a bit of it, or mix another herbicide or possibly a strong surfactant to make it pretty lethal.

Since you posted the question about the mother-in-law, and have an IP address traceable to your computer, you'd better make sure she doesn't get within 10 miles of any place that sells it, or you're gonna get the blame.

Ever watch forensic files on court tv? A person could kill someone, somehow leave behind the corner of a trash bag made in Bankok, smuggled into Mexico, that somehow made it to some guy's house clear across the county by blowing wind, and they'd trace it to you through a lot number. LOL.

To have a lasting effect on "mother in law", she's gotta drink it.

And, yes it can be used on the veggie garden. Round-up has a relativley short life span. Check the instructions, but I believe you can begin planting a couple of days after spaying.

Round-Up Residue is murder on tomatoes. Instructions say wait 30 days after using, before setting out tomatoes. I ignored advice, only waited a week before I set some out. They grew a little, then turned yellow & died..... I learned my lesson.

When my melons are about 6-8 inches and befor they spreed, I put a 5 gal bucket over each and spray roundup over the rest. Saves a lot of weed hoeing. Wish there was roundup ready sweet corn but experts here tell me it isn't.

Absolutely, it will kill about anything it gets onto. Now why do you want to kill your vegetables?

would it get rid of mother-in-law?

If you kill her garden it probably will get rid of your mother-in-law-----also your wife and kids if you have them.
