Well folks, here we go again. Hurricane Dennis is coming our way--it may end up coming ashore pretty close to where Ivan did just 10 months ago. This may be the last chance to post a message so please keep us in your prayers. This one is worse than Ivan with winds up to 145 mph and gusts to 180 mph. We'll report back as soon as we can. The storm will be coming ashore in about 3 hours (about 1 pm central time), so we'll be losing power within the next hour or so.

Seems I remember your talking to us about Ivan. Hope Dennis is kinder. I used to live on the gulf coast and as you, had to put up with hurricanes.

Best wishes with the storm;I live in Hardee County,wich was hit by four of the storms last years.Life has returned almost to normal,but the town will never look the same. We were BLESSED with a fantastic outpouring of private help.Two days after Charley there were over 200 power trucks from all over the south to restore power.FEMA helped greatly.The LORD will pull you thru and you willed be humbled by the recovery.

I am glad it does not look like I will be spending next weekend rebiulding the house and cutting up trees. (not too many anyway). We have lucked out again and we are on borrowed time. I still would not wish it on anyone. I hope all turns out well, but with this one, there will be some massive damage and death. Y'all take care and be safe.

Leland,
We need the rain, but do not need the potential soybean rust spores that could possibly be blown up here with the clouds and wind.

Jim true but there is a lot of people thinking as I do sad but true I would rather it blow in as a tropical storm and make it's way up the mississippi and dump several inches of rain on us. As for the rust it's coming and there is not much we can do to stop it ,rust is coming one way or another.

Leland,
I want the rain as much or more as the next guy, you know that by the business I am in and the hurt this drought has put on me. I just wish there was a way to get the rain without the soybean rust for at least a little while longer. Have a good one.:>)

I know this drought has really cut into your business but I did not want to remind you earlier ,and everybody here is desprate for rain even the Missouri boys are cheering for the hurricane to come north but you are the only person that has brought up rust but that is a good thing to worry about wish it could been different but I will take it any way I can get it tired of hauling water already.

Leland, I helped clean up after Andrew and believe me there are better ways to get rain.

Nebraska I to have saw the damage a hurricane can do back in 88 or 89 I spent weeks running supplies to N. Carolina after I belive hugo and it looked like an A-Bomb had been dropped but we all have different needs. But the poeple living on the coast should be you'st to this by now it's the price they pay to live there just like the floods and tornados that tear us apart or the quakes on the west coast .

Hello Kevin:
Our prayers are with you. Surprised to see that you stayed to ride it out.
Seems everyone else has left.
We have been hauling gas night and day from N.O. to Mobile trying to keep up with the demand.

Stay safe;
This looks like a bad one.
John
