We are cutting here in southwest Nebraska going hard for about a week now. Still lots of wheat in the fields but most of the custom cutters have moved on. Of course this is winter wheat and I assume you plant spring varietys.

We are across the lake (Erie) we are about 5 days ahead of normal. Quality is good, Yields are all over. I went to southern Wisconsin on a business trip a few years ago and the farmer we visted was running wheat the day I was there and it was the end of July.

You must be down in Essex County, somewhere along Lake Erie or in The London, Chatham or Sarnia area. My wheat has been colouring up for a couple of weeks now and the mixed grain has just started to colour. The wheat heads havn't started to droop much. The 21st of July wouldn't suprise me before it's harvested. Located on the east coast of Lake Huron about three hours north of Detroit.

started a week ago but the hired man tore the axle out of the combine. so i had to use the new combine but i couldnt put it in windrows with it because with a 30 foot head the windrows are really big. so now the same hired hand is raking the straw into windrows with the v-rake.

I'm in western oregon USA. Winter wheat usually starts around the 20th to 25th of july. Spring wheat about 30 days later. Our crimson clover is just finishing up, a little late this year. Tall fescue grass seed is being swathed in full force right now and should start combineing in a couple days if the weather hold. Red clover varies, but this year it may start cutting around the 15th of august or so. It is just starting to bloom right now.

HI FM,

Down in Texas, they start cutting in May, I'm told and the wheat rippens at an average rate of 12 miles towards the north per day.

Most wheat here in central Missery, oops, I mean Missouri was in the bin about 2-3 weeks ago. Some a hair earlier than that.
