The local GMC dealer has this one on his lot for $8500. 1973 1600, 345, Hoist, 4-2 Tranny, one owner, 28,000 miles. Also has a 1970 1700, 392, tag axle, 18' box, Hoist, 5-2 tranny, roll tarps, one owner, 24,000 miles, for $9,800...really sharp (his words).

Thats a sharp old truck for sure.. There is one that body style sitting down amongst the trees at my father in laws place..somebodies shortened it down real short to pull mobile homes (tornado bait)..what a shame..

Oh Good Greif!

Now ya got me slobberin' all over myself over this silly truck!

I'm going to look at the map; hope it is a really, really long ways off! :>)

However, are you really sure that isn't a '66 instead of a '76? The '76s should have had the square(ish) style tip over hood, didn't they?

Well Allan, you'd have a mighty long drive ahead of ya to and from Lindsay. Its out there between Albion and Norfolk (nearly 3/4 the way across the state for you). Sure is a pretty truck. Best of luck to ya.

It does look like a 60's with the butter fly hood. Emblem on the side look more like a 70's. But can tell if its a 1600 or 1700. I would say 66 1700. I let you have a handkerchief for you slobberin.

I'm lookin' across the generator floor at our 1973 Loadstar 1600 fire truck that looks identical to that one at the top of this post, butterfly hood and all. It's got less than 20,000 miles on it too.

Old farm trucks don't always bring much in eastern Nebraska. That truck will hold 350 maybe 400 bu. tops? Can't even empty the grain cart on one truck. But if it is in good shape (as it looks) Maybe it will sell halfway decent. A friend of mine bought a Ford (75 model?) needed new seal in the power steering pump, steel box with no endgate, pretty good paint on the cab for around $900 last spring.

Boy, I dunno,

Watched a '74 Chev C-65 sell in January for $10K. Simple little combination box.

Cheapest I've found since was an old '70 Chev, wood box for $6500.

Still a few little farmers around.

Around here last winter....single axle trucks, all low milage farm trucks, with side dump beet beds..all kinds of ages....800 to 1500. Every thing has gone twin screw, AND DIESEL That one could use a bigger engine or a 5 speed, and I don't like the box, but in your flat country would be OK. It would be look perfect along side your other equipment.
