They are living in the walls of the house.

Put poison all around. They take it, but then they store it away for winter.

Put snap-traps all around (the big ones). No bites yet.

Been trying to shoot them but there are some other houses close by so I am limited as to where I can shoot. If they are in the front yard, it just isn't safe.

So ... any ideas? Anyone tried anything that works great?

WE leave our home for 6 months in the winter. When we returned last April there were critters in our walls.I tried everything both legal and illegal. I finall stuck MOTH BALLS in every place I could get them. One day later ---NO gnawing. Im getting ready to head west again and have seeded the walls ,etc with an adequate amount of cheap moth balls.W4

Aloha, Don't forget to plug the holes to keep them from entering.

I take great pride in bringing them to earth with my scoped pellet gun. I have to be careful of my shots too, but it just gives me all the more satisfaction to pull a great shot off. It's priceless entertainment. You'll soon be looking forward to the challenge of your next squatters and hoping for more.

Have you tried electronic pest repellers? Lots of info on the internet about them.

If you have a 22, you can get some bird shot for that gun. The bird shot won"t go far at all. Hate those buggers.

Peanut butter and snap traps.

I hate using poison, the mouse, rat squirrel eats it and DIES in your wall where you can't get to it and you get to smell them for a month. Imagine 4-5 of these dead critters stinking up the place.

We have a house full of snap traps w/ peanutbutter.

I won't be happy about the smell, if there is one. But it's better than having them chew through the water pipes again! God knows what they are doing to the electrical wire. Scares the $%!# out of me.

The idea with poison is that it dehydrates them so they leave the building looking for water ... so they don't die in the house ... that's the theory anyhow ...

I don't care ... just as long as they die.

You might want to check into local hunting regulations before you shoot them. Also if you live in town and the neighbors are a little fussy about guns going off get a high powered pellet rifle with a scope on it usually a .177 caliber with around a 1000 f.p.s will smoke the little critters. These can be found at hunting stores like Bass Pro and Cabelas.

If you can find it, buy some poison called Just One Bite.. I got it at the feed store. They also sell poisoned peanuts. I climbed up in the attic doorway and tossed that broke up bar of poison all around...they find it. Then they die. I ain't smelled one yet.

BUBBLE GUM! We buy it in small buckets, Sam's Club, Cost Co., or Smart and Final. We use it on ground squirrels out here. Don't need to unwrap it. Just spread it around. They eat it and cannot digest it. They die in their holes and the colony just ceases to exist. I am not certain that Tree Squirrels will eat bubble gum (brand does not matter) but if they did your trouble would turn into dead rotting squirrels in between the walls of your home.
Good luck!
