YIPPPEEE, Got my shifter fixed today on my 90 Chev pickup. You guys were correct just broke a 1/4 spirol pin, which holds socket afair to the main shift rail. Our Chev and GMC dealers did not have a pin in stock. But found a spring (roll) pin that would work....Thanks Allan and TP.
You all made my day.....I'm getting to old for all, now I can't remember what I'm getting to old for. Think it is "All Timers" disease, I have it all the time.. Again thanks Guys

Keith

Kinda reminds me of my '78 GMC pickup--it had a column shift on a 3 speed tranny, and once in a while it would hang up in 2 gears, thereby making one open the hood, reach in and move the shifter bars to get it back right! One day, my wife took it out shopping and the danged thing did that! She knew what to do and how to do it, but she said she wasn't going to be seen dangling her legs out from under the hood, trying to unstick the thing! She's only 5 ft. tall! Some guy came along and got it unstuck for her! RJ
