I have one of these"s dives implanted about three years ago. So far haven"t had any problems with this.
My question: Is there anyone out there that has to have the battery changed?
I was told that the life expendiency on this is four to five years depending if it hasn"t been activated? I know the last time I had to have it check out they told me I had a heart rate at one time over 140. Asked me what I was doing at the time. I had know idea? Did tell them it wasn"t from sxx. My arm still sore from where my wife hit me.

My neigbor had one and he was telling me that he had a fant beeping noise in his chest. But no else could hear it. Few months later when he was in FLorida his wife did hear the beeping noise. So they went to the hopital down there and they told him he had to have a new Battery put in.
Not sure if I heard him right but I think I heard him say the battery cost for this device was around $30,000. But I might of miss under stood him.
Sure have a lot of things to avoid on this device. Magnets, air port security, welders, power generators any high powered electrical tools, cellular phones.
Thanks for any Info. Mike

Mike, I sometimes wonder also about the battery. My "Gizmo" has a 4 yr. anniversary this week. I continuely thank the Lord and the medical system for being here today. My unit was installed, removed and another installed while being "under"(1st wasn"t powerful enough). When I came to, someone said "I"m sorry but this is going to hurt". 4 people held my arms and legs as my side was pierced, several attempts to install a tube because of a near fatal lung collapse, with no anesthesia, I"ll tell you that hurt, still heave mattress stuffing under my fingernails. But, I feel pretty good these days, and on a lighter note, my"Gizmo" is stronger than V.P.Dick Cheney"s, so I say I"m more powerful than the Vice President of the U.S., although a recent poll by Newsweek shows that really isn"t anything to brag about anymore either. Good Luck Mike, and may the Volts be with you, Dale
