I have a 1969 4020 JD and all my implements hydraulic lines are plumbed for it (of course). I am looking at a 1995 CIH 4230 and was wondering if anyone knows what fitting the rear remotes require?

The Case will have the SAE Standard Pioneer couplings that are not compatible with your JD Old Style couplings. You can buy an adapter to go from one to the other at your local Ag Store for around $18 each...which is really the cheapest way to go. I have the same situation here with my 4430 vs a Case and other tractors.

I think the J-D couplers they introduced with the new generation tractors were used up thru the "40 series" tractors. When they came out with the "50" series they went to the S A E spec couplers which are compatible with the pioneer coupler ends. My 4440 has the old style J-D couplers (has the tapered end) but the 4450 and newer uses pioneer ends. The old J-D coupler ends may be had with either the pipe thread or the "o" ring.

Right- JD switched to the ISO 9000 universal standard coupler- matches Pioneer- slightly longer length to them. Old Pioneer will not fit. I ran some machines that needed three remote hookups, and used them on 30-40-50- series tractors, so bought six adapters for the 4450. Keep them in a separate toolbox on that tractor. Other machines, like tillage, that are dedicated to the 4450, I just put the ISO Pioneer couplers on those hoses.

Thanks for the quick responses!

I was hoping I could just buy an adapter at Tractor Supply...though maybe I'll try to get the dealer to throw them in.

Thanks again!
