I pull it behind the grain drill while seeding grain or soybeans. Packs and smooths the ground to get better seed/soil contact. Also pushes small rocks down so they don't get in the cutterbar when harvesting. Rolls nice down the road between fields. Is built watertight so I can add water for weight. Son used it to pack his new driveway. 13 footer holds extra 1600 lbs of water. Even though this is heavy soil, a lot of neighbors are packing their fields (not when wet)- even corn ground. Commercial models are three steel rollers on transports, up to 40 feet wide. Cost thousands- this I built for under $300. Junkyard scrounging, and never a flat tire!

Looks good. Think I will build one, have to find the pipe, I think 10 or 12 feet will be enough for me. I have a split field with a wet area through it. Would like to ditch it between ponds but DNR says NO NO NO.

Got my gas pipe at Borchardt Steel in New Germany. Isn't there an industrial wrecker in Fargo? Pipeline company at Clearbrook?

Yes to both, I know several guys that work for the pipline, now called Enbridge, so meant to chat with them first. They have an office here in town. Bob
