I was working on getting this MH 30 running and haveing carb problem. Well it diead and I forgot to turn it off. Well went back about 2 hours later and found oil all over the place. Well guess what the coil had blew up and shot oil all over. Oh well guess I'll have to go out and see if I have a coil laying around some place plus also probably clean up the points again. Guess I just couldn't handle just one problem with this and had to make another one for my sefl. LOL

Hey old, what you wanna bet that with a new coil it'll run right? I was working on an old red seal for a buddy last week. It acted for all the world like it was starving for fuel, or had a vacuum leak. Bugger would idle all day, start first crack like nothing, but be dammed if it had any power. Give it any throttle, and it would just stagger and quit. Put a new coil on it, and it runs fine. It sure had me, because I never heard of or saw a coil go quite like that. One never really knows....

I don't think the new coil will fix the problem I have with the carb/fuel. Up till I blew the coil up it would run just fine as long as the main jet was out of the carb, but if you so much as put a finget over the main jet hole it would die. I then tried running it with my finger over the hole and sprayed carb cleaner on the manifold where the carbs bolt to it and it would keep running. This manifold has been weld in that area and I figure it has a little leak there. I plan to put on 2 gaskets and use some silicone on both and see what happens, tha is after I look out in the junk yard for another coil
