If I could I would use the ceramics --- Massey Ferguson use to put ceramic coated mufflers on the early 2000 series tractors... only thing on them that worked from the factory.

those mufflers are priceless today and are still around the 2805 we have now is on its 3rd regular type muffler and had a stainless straight pipe wear out as well...

It would probably just be better to have them ceramic coated. It would probably hold up better. I have had valve covers chromed and they always end up rusting eventually. You really have to be constantly cleaning and polishing them. Ceramic seems to hold up better. If you have them chromed it should not cost more than around $200 dollars. Good luck.

They always told me that IF IT DON"T RUN THEN CROME IT , guess that is why i never went for the crome or polished alum. I like my stuff to go fast that way you never got a chance to look at all the shiney stuff . But Myself i think that is way out of line to make something shiney .

I just got a 1468 and am going to have the covers and exhaust shields redone and the estimate in Canada is around 500 dollars. I think someone is looking for an easy buck or got one too many zeroes in their quote. Can't be right. Migraine

Michael, you need to find a different chrome plating place. You can dip a whole car for that. Somebody sees a vacation in their future, without you in it. Harley
