So what do I do now????? ????? ?

Noticed the new background the wife had put on the computer. It says "Happy 23rd Anniversary"

Well now that you mentioned it I do seem to recall this date. Yes it is July 1 so this is the right day. So that’s why there is a pineapple upside down cake in the fridge. At least I know why she has been walking around with a sad face all day.

Well this is not the first time I forgot and I am sure it will not be the last.

So why is it these woman get so emotional over some date for something that happened 23 years ago. Dang it is just like another day in the year to me.

Guess I better get the shop vac out for help because I am going to need to do some serious sucking up to get out of this one. Do you think I could get out of this by running out and getting her a new tool I always wanted????? LOL!!!!! !!

I'm with you on it's just another day in the year . I met my wife in a bar fight , moved in with her the next day , asked her to marry me two days later and got married 3 months later , that was 20 years ago this August . I don't ride the Harley much anymore ( still have the same one ) and don't get into fights either so to pay for all this domestication this year she's getting a loader for my tractor ;,)> . Good luck ...Randy

Men are from Mars,
Women are from Venus.

I got married on Ground Hogs day. So did her sister. No way I can forget that!

I do remember from my youth, my dad got mom a lawnmower for their anniversary (July 4th- he was in the Army during WWII, and it was the only day he could get off, so the story goes). It was pretty heavy going around the homestead for a few days, I recall. As for me, I got lucky- wife hates to shop, doesn't care much for presents, so we just take each other out to dinner for special occasions, and are both happy. 35 and counting. Retirement, T minus 5 and counting.

A lesson to be taught. yes, taught to any guy thinking about getting married.

I had forsight & enough pull to pick the day. Two weeks after my birthday. This gives me two weeks to pick up something. Although I have still forgot, I now buy a card & hide it away the day after our anniversary. At least I can still pull acard out. 21 years & still happy.

It also helps that her birthday is 3 weeks after that.

We had been married I believe two years when driving our old military 6x6 logging truck home with a load one evening that she happened to be riding along. I asked what day it was. She said it was Tuesday. I said no, what is the date. She said it was the eighteenth. I said "Oh, happy anniversary yesterday." That was the wrong thing to say. I still don't know what the right thing would have been, especially since I was the first to remember. Now going on 29 years.

Ouch.

I have a buddy that got in the doghouse with his wife when that broken back movie was playing over in the next town. Guess what she made him go watch with her one night? YOUCH!!! YEEOUUUUCH!!! Paybacks can be a b.... And I kept an eye (not my back) on him for awhile after that just to make sure he didn't get no unnatural ideas.

Mark

I haven't forgotten my aniversary in the last seven years. It's July 7th and a very happy day. There's no way that I could forget such a happy occasion. There's only one day that is more thrilling. That would be Nov. 12th. Put up with her for twenty years. Now I celibrate July 7th just for the fun of it and Nov. 7th as independence day. Funniest part of it is, we are better friends now than when we were married.

mjbrown How did you make out like a bandit? You mean this is a two way street. I think you just lucked out with a wife who missed the day in wife class where they learned that no matter what, it is always the mans fault... OR ... you tore a hole in the whole time/space continum thingy.

I don't know. I think the self life on this guilt thing is about up and it'll take another 25 before the stars line up like that again. She could be setting me up for somthing too. Something expensive. You can't be too careful.

It was sure nice knowing you, John. My wife picked Columbus Day (12 October) for our Wedding so I would remember. You might just take the shop vac and clean you a spot in the garage to live in for the next few weeks. Your DOOMED, man!

When I relized what day it was and the wife asked me what did I get her; I told her I had a nice dinner night out planned.
She told me I was not going to get off that easy. Just admit it you forgot.
