I was running my Bush Hog today and got it running to low and hit a big mound of dirt and when I looked back the PTO shaft to the hog wasn't turning.
I don't have a slip clutch on the hog.
The PTO must have been slipping on the tractor.
Is this a sign that I am having trouble internally in the tractor concerning the PTO???
I cut some heavy grass and some decent size trees afterward and it worked without a problem.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Number One is the fluid level on full. If so can be two things Hyd pressure too low, but most likly you need new clutch disc. Once it slips they are usually toast.

Maybe it jolted the PTO out of gear, especially if it worked after that. I would think that if it was slipping, it wouldn't work right afterwards cutting heavy grass or small trees. I dont know what kind of PTO clutch you have, mine is a multiple disk wet-clutch, hydraulically engaged. But if it slips, that is not intermittent, that is, once it slips, it keeps on slipping. just my $0.02.
