Mornin' Guys,

Headin' out to do some cleanup on my baby today.

Gotta get all those residual oats out of her belly so the mousers don't take up permanent residence over the winter and use the wiring as their main source of supplemental diet. :>)

Then, off and on over the next few months, I'll start tuning 'er up for wheat next summer. A belt here, a bearing there and adjust 'er down to a fine line.

Who says ya gotta have a flashy, new rotary, anyway? :>)

Allan

Clean it up when you"re done, fix stuff that looks like it might break; no wonder it works for you.
Not my style, I"m afraid. I"m too pig headed by far.

Seems like evry time I have seen that shot live, I have a couple or more beady little raccoon eyes staring back at me.

I was going to call him later today. I've had enough cutting on me to kow I wanted company the first couple of days but really didn't want to converse much. I'll give you a heads up when I talk to him or the nurses. I had a fellow call me here at work this morning with an F-20 question because he couldn't get a hold of the NE Cowman! Guess being second isn't so bad Huh?

Yeah,

It's downright sinful, 'taint it? :>)

That old beast just hums along. Did 40 acres and it never even blinked back.

I've never understood it. How in the heck can ya wear out a combine anyway? A steady supply of 16 gauge sheet metal and the pop-rivet gun is always standing at the ready 'round here. :>)

Allen, I always enjoy reading your posts and the photos you include. How many acres do you have out there in Nebraska?

Oh,

I'm just an old man out playin' in the dirt so's to keep me out of everyone's way. :>)

Between my mom and I we pay taxes on about 600 acres, give 'er take. The good irrigated stuff and an 80 of grass is rented out to the big boys who really know what they are doing and can actualy make a livin' at it.

I found out long ago that I'm just not bright enough to make it pay, but I still like gettin' my hands dirty and tinkern' with the old iron tho. :>)

You mentioned your mom is in on the deal- is this perhaps "the farm" from her side of the family? Or just a place unrelated to family history that the two (three, with Mrs. Wrangler) of you invested in? Signed, Just Nosy.

BTW, I agree that there's nothing more fun than an old combine that hums along, with everything working. You're well aware of the other side of the coin, too. . .
