At Peterborough a vendor had a Ford F350 equipped with tracks like the ones they brought out for ATVs.

Those Mattracks are cool, but so blasted expensive. I built my own rig.

my friends call it "Donzilla".:-) Believe it or not, the way I built it and the kind of parts I used, I'm into it for less than a set of heavy duty Mattracks. And that includes the price of the pickup.

Now that is one fine job of BARN YARD ENGENERING . The only thing that would realy make it better is rear steering that would cut the turning radius down . But i am still impressed , but you are like me if quater inch plate is good the one inch would be better.

It does have 4 track steering. see picture inside. in reply to the tractor vet, 09-25-2006 08:51:00

I built it with 4 way steering to also cut down on track scrub. I had to do some modifying on the steering linkage to get the exponential steering like a car. It works very well. The track scrub is quite acceptable.

Nothing right now, it........ in reply to Rod in Smiths Falls, ON, , 09-25-2006 03:43:40

was more of a "concept prover" than anything. I built it 3 years ago. It will be re-done to lighten it up a bunch. Hopefully will have a tracked sprayer when done.

The pickup is completly untouched as far as holes or anything. I took 2 forklifts and set it on the tracked subchassis and u-clamped it down. Everything is bolt on. I can have the pickup back off and on the road as a pickup again in a few hours.
