I got home form visiting my girlfriend for the weekend around 1:30, then started to get ready to chop some corn. I adjusted the shear bar and went at it, first going for the 4 rows left in all the feilds for the crop adjuster that went through on Firday. Got those off, and with the shear bar adjusted nice & close, it cut the husks just fine.

I try to do it every 10 loads or so. It really does make a heck of a difference. I then went after the other feilds that got planted later and they were MUCH nicer than what we got from the early planting. Actually reached to the top of the canopy on our 1855, about 1 1/2' or so on average taller than the earlier feilds.

Pretty glad we borrowed the neighbors 2 wagons to go with our own 2, then I didn't have to wait for an empty wagon like I would have had to to otherwise. Now I've got all 4 loaded and waiting to be unloaded tomorrow, I just may be able to fill then again between school and work.

Nah, I think I've got 'em just right. Next weekend we're taking 3 days off and going to a dinner theater in Janesville to see Jeckyll & Hyde. I have some time to chop during the week, it's not like we're a big full-time operation. Only about 30 acres of corn overall, and the stuff we're chopping now is just barely ready to come off. Should be able to finish it off before I leave on Friday morning....
