I stumbled across a BF Avery A the other day. It doesn't look like it would take too much to make it run. Does anyone have any idea on the number of these tractors were produced? Are they rare? Where can I find the specifications on this tractor? What is the history on the BF avery company?

Rarity of the 'A' will depend on where you are. I've only seen 2 here in Central California. I own 1 and just made a deal on the second. There are a couple of clubs and support sites. E-mail is open if you want to get serious about owning this cute little tractor. If NOT, how about letting us know where it is? :^)

B F Avery Tractor Co. was at Louisville Kentucky. This is not the same company that built Avery steam tractors. Cletrac General, Wards Twin Row and Avery "A"s are the same tractor and became the MM BF Avery when MM bought the company in 1950.
