What is the scoop on www.tiretown.com? Why are their prices so low? Has anyone got any feedback on buying tires there? What is a BUFFED tire?
Thanks

Bought several sets of the blem tires from them for combine and other tractors and never a problem with any of them. Blems have rough looking sidewalls or came out of the mold rougher looking instead of smooth shiny sidewall. If not a show tractor and for the price doesn't hurt a thing and they work well. As far as buff tires you are on your own with those and may or may not get what you want there without seeing them so be careful on those.

ALL of their tires are blems, adjustments, repaired tires, etc. I work for a large Tire Dealer, and that is where we send all of our farm tire adjustments, for certain manufacturers. Be careful of the buffed tires, they may just be casings (no tread). Find out particulars before you buy. I do know that a lot of the tires we send in for adjustment, are good tires, but they may have an appearance issue with them. HTH, JohnG

I have talked to them a few times trying to match a tire I already had. Never have been able to get together though. I had a few customers order tires from them and I mounted them. They seemed to do okay, I think they were blems or used. Last year I had a customer drive down there (5 hours one way) to pickup a good deal on some import(read Chinese) tires and had me mount them. Turns out I would have sold him the same tire for the same money and saved him the trip. So check local before you buy.

Bought a set of tires from them last year for a 1934 John Deere GP and have had good luck so far and the price was a couple hundred dollars a piece cheaper per tire.

"Buffs" are tires that have had all of the maker's logos an identifying marks sanded off. Many times this is done by the factory or a distributor on tires that are just too good to destroy, but they don't want nobody ever expecting any warranty on em either. SOMETIMES tires are buffed cause a feller knows he bought a truck load of "hot" tires an he don't want em identified.
Blems are tires with cosmetic defects that can usually be bought at one price with a factory waranty or at a lower price with no waranty. Buffs are a step or two down scale from blems.
Personally, I figger if you're ashamed to leave yore name on it then I don't want it.
Don't nuthin bout TireTown but where they gone be if you buy problems from em?
