Just bought a disc mower with a 1 way hyd. cyl. on it. 4010 has dual hyd. Does it matter which outlet on which side you plug into for one way operation ? I went all thru the operators manual and did't find the answer,or over looked it .

Plug it in the right hand port. That way you will have float if you want it. There also may be a screw somewhere that you can turn to return the cylinder oil directly to the transmission case rather than to the input of the high pressure pump. The pressure of the charge pump can keep the single acting cylinder from closing if the load is light. On my early 4020, I have to shut down the engine to close a cylinder by hand because I haven't found that screw or turned it.

Like Gerald says, use the right port so float will be avalible,IF you have the control rod in the top hole of the lever. float will not be avalible if the control rod is in the lower lever hole. Also only the right port has a locking valve built into it,which helps slow or prevent leakdown. The correct one is so you have to push the control lever forward to extend the cylinder.

Shouldn't matter. Just pick the one that when you instinctively pull (or push) the control lever, the implement does what you want.
