Re: farmtrac tractors question in reply to havvey, 11-11-2006 10:00:19
I werked on the hydraulics on one. Lift cylinder, dog bone, lift piston wuz beat up. I first thought these parts were junk. I had dug a deep and long ditch with a bottom plow so when I got done I used the Farmtrac to cover the ditch. I wuz impressed How well it werked and found out why the hydraulics had tore up. The stabilizer bars were not adjusted rite and the bars on the tires would lift a implement and slam it down. The owner did not know enny different and admitted that he thought this wuz normal. The parts were reasonable and I felt rite at home werk’in on the hydraulics. Reminded me of a FORD set up. I knew a engineer that werked fer’em, he wuz a tractor guy and told me they were a good tractor cept fer the electronics (charge’in system and wire’in) He did go on and tell me most of the bugs were werked out and that the problems could have been avoided sept the Injuns that imported them would not have enny thing to do with changing their ways, it wuz fix what we sent ya and leave yer mouth shut. I did have a problem find’in the parts threw the dealer netwerk. I made a call to Tarboro NC and got the info needed and part #’s. Then went to a dealer and he got the parts rite away. I know the guy who brought it, I know he runs it hard, I know he gave 5K fer it (used 2 years old 400 hr.), I feel he got a 15K plus tractor for 5K. I would jump on a deal like that. I also werk on a few 3000 Bota’s and the farmtrac will run rite with’em. Lotta bang fer the buck in’em.
