Allan, why didn't you just buy a triple valve to begin with?

How would you swap two of 'em to single acting and leave the double-throw on the grapple (remember, F-10)? Can ya do that?

I had to plug off two "returns" and change out the little valves inside the hooters.

I went thru my dealer parts guy and he is a sharp bird and just a killer fer figuring things out. After he called and talked to the manufacturer, we thought this would be the cheapest, easiest way to do it.

I guess. I don't know. My F11 has the same valve. Mabe it has double lines to the cylinders? I know it don't have down pressure. But anyway, we run double valves all the time with single acting cylinders on equiment. The lift cylinder on my swather only has one hose. Maybe you worry too much cuz I never thought about it myself.

The F-11 uses all two way cylinders and yes, I had thought about the single acting on implements. However, tractors are built with the "hold-check" and "dump" circuits to compensate for 'em.

Even so, my loader tank only has one return and I would have had to plumb it looking like a Christmas tree to do it that way.

My thinking was that it was going to be awfully hard to beat that original "series-flow" system with one in and one out, all using the same oil.

Just works good. :>)

glad it works good for you. We all brag about that rotary valve and the art of being able to run it in our sleep but I bet you don't miss the herky jerky thing.

I can"t seem to locate a 4-way valve for the grapple cylinder in these pictures.

Okay, Here's the story on that.

When I was marryin' the valves together, they ended up being 5" apart at the handles. Okay, I figured that would have put that third handle way back at my elbow, so I just left the grapple on the tractor's hydraulics for now.

I wish I would have went ahead and plumbed 'er in 'cause I think it would have worked out. That PTO pump is sooooo much faster than the tractor's hydraulic pump.

Maybe one of these days, I'll take a wild hair and stick that other valve on there.

If your not paticular about which hand you use, could you plumb in the third valve at the same location on the opposite side of the cab?

Sure as heck could! Thanks for the idea!

Or, maybe mount it out on that axle and build myself a handle extender. The last owner of this cab obviously ran his hydraulics in thru this little hole at the rear of the cab.

Dunno, my ol' pee brain hasn't got that far down the line yet. :>)

Allen, could you set up the grapple valve to run off a foot pedal? I've never ran a hydro but I'm guessing you wouldn't need to run the foot N inch pedal or the brakes most of the time so your feet would be free as long as you could put the pedal somewhere where it would be comfortable yet not somewhere where it would be in the way.

Boy, I dunno ol' Bud,

Don't think I touched that "clutch" pedal three times since I've owned the tractor until I put the loader on. Now, I use the silly thing with every bite. Find myself using it all the time.

The grapple works "okay" the way it is on the tractor's system, 'cause you only use it about 25% of the time anyway.

I'm just used to that "clamp" of the PTO pump and besides, I like to hear myself whine a heck of a lot too. :>) I'll use it the way it is for now and just see how it goes. My biggest "fix" was to get the heat anyways. Allan

Allan;

I like Cliffs idea of using a foot pedal for the grapple. Just for s___ts and grinns. And since you dont have to use the clutch very often put the foot pedal on the left side.

Wish I would have thought of that when I was
playing with loader hydraulics. Supposed to get bitter cold here tonight. Here is southern NM not too far from the Rio Grande and by bitter I mean b elow 30*
