Well Hurmph!!

Got that ugly swamp cooler off the roof and figured while I'm at it, let's just pull the roof cover and see how dirty it is in there.....

Boy! Somebody did a number on this poor old tractor!

Switches, relay and the low pressure cut-out are still there, but the evaporator and expansion valve are completely missing! No where to been seen!

There goes another $80. Maybe I should have just bought a new tractor! Naw..... ..what fun is that? :>)

At least you know why the swamp cooler was on it now? :) Last year at a farm show they were advertising a whole add on top box with condenser, fans, evaporator, hoses and compressor for $1350 and looking at your deal now that sounds reasonable but sounded real high to me last year lol. Problem is that was last years price so who knows how much it went up ?

I had planned to yank the fan/motor to use in the 1066's condenser box. Both of them were totally missing also.

However, I'll wait a bit. "No Tools" thinks he might have a total box for me. If that turns out to be so and I can make it work, you can sure have this cooler if ya want it.

It's pretty darned new, but I did notice that the squirrel cage is missing out of it tho.

Some faraway day you're be knocking at St. Pete's door and he will ask about your good deeds. You'll have plenty to point to...bringing old tractors back from the edge of the abyss.

Thought of you as I read a local farm auction bill for this coming weekend up here in Dakota.

I never in my wildest dreams would have guessed that the old tractor was completely "gutted" like this.

Oh well, good news is that the other swamp cooler motor is gonna be a snap to install in the condenser box and that expensive thermo coupler (thermal switch) is still intact.

'Spose I'll have to find some dum-dum to stuff 'er into a new evaporator tho. :>(

Whats the fun of buying a new one? I can think of two ways to have fun. #1 Convincing the wife you need a new tractor. #2 covincing her you can pay for it. steve

And I can't do neither one.

Therefore, I shall remain a loyal fan of these old tractors. :>)

No matter how dirty I get. :>)

As I look at these new tractors I am convinced that there is no way they will still be functioning when they are 30 or 40 years old as these we are working on do. Too many electronics to break. And they don't run if the computer doesn't want to.
