This is suppose to be a McCormick-Deering O-6 orchard Tractor(painted green and without the orchard metal). It has a hand clutch and perforated hood and most of the characteristics of an 0-6. The frame is really weird as the hood grill does not come flush with the end of the frame (or chassis). Has anyone seen a tractor like this. If so, why was it built this way. I am really wondering if it is an 0-6 or a put together hybrid.

Everything Im seeing says IH, but why its like that, Im guessing but the cast tub could have busted at one time and one from a grader or something aftermarket was used.

Hard to tell for sure in picture, but looks like a 4 series or farmall H carburator on engine. can't tell if its a 4 series engine adapted to 6 chassis.

I kinda thought that too, but see the little square peice near the tank with what looks like wires hanging out of it? Thats why I fiqured it was at one time a grader, like the Trojan, but using a 6 series instead of the M,and the tub was bigger or something. The plate over the top of the front appear to be done in a fashion saying aftermarket attachment, instead of something hobbled up.He can always check the engine and chassis numbers/prefixes.

Looks like someone put a frontend off of a O-6 on it to me.

i looked it up and i bet that this frame is a ID-9 or W-9 and the engine is out of a O-4 or W-4 thats why it looks diffrent just my guess

That's definately not an O-6, Maybe farmall tin and engine and Oliver frame? Not sure if it's an ollie frame or not.

Not to sharp on McCormick-Deering O-6 tractors but from what I can see in the pic is an industrial type front axle.

Looks like the hood and tank are on an angle where they meet.

It would look real good to just straighten up the sheetmetal and give it a coat of paint.

Might make a good head scratcher at the tractor shows.

I know I have encountered a few tractors over the years at different tractor shows that made folks say what the heck is that and why would anyone do that.

At one show there was an older man sitting in his lawn chair and we were gathered around his tractor asking the same questions as above and the older man replied that he did it to make people wonder like we were and he just smiled and then went on to explain that he had a pile of leftovers that he didnt want to through out so he put it all together and ended up with what we were looking at.
