I have an Allis Chalmers D17 Series IV. I have two hydraulic ports on the back. I have an old manual trip bucket and I would like to know if it is possible to run a hydraulic bucket on the Series IV? Thanks.

If you have a Series IV it has an independent hydraulic pump on the right side, where the belt pulley would mount on earlier Series. You have live hydraulics whenever the engine is running-foot clutch pushed in or not. For your all hydraulic loader to work you need two hydraulic circuits, at least one of which must be a two-way to run the bucket cylinder(s). Many loaders use a one-way for the boom lift. Not sure which valves were standard and which were optional, but you certainly can set up your system to do what you want. Do you have 3 hyd levers? One for the 3pt, the other 2 run separate valves?

I don't see why you couldn't do it. I had a D-17 series 1 that had a loader on it and the bucket and lift ran off the hyds of the tractor and worked ok other then when you push the clutch down you don't have hyds
