Especially after dark around here its going to be a low temp. tonight of 3. Had a tough day already, darned lake effect snow dumped on us. I was plowing since 4:00am. Wierd winter though, the last of the season is going to be like WINTER. What has the winter been like so far in you neck of the world? Drop a post. DTURKE

Here in NW Iowa a neighbor of mine had a mole digging in his lawn on new year's eve. We should have had two feet of frost by then. We have about five inches of snow on the ground now and the low temp has been around 10 degrees and highs in the upper 20's, which is more normal. I saw tile lines being dug earlier on this week so the frost must not be much deeper that a couple of inches. The ice fishermen have had a lousy winter. Jim

Ha!, we have severe weather warnings for Britain!
Could be "6cm of snow on the hills and may get more which might cause a lot of accidents with motorists driving too fast". Temperature has gone below zero (Celsius)!!
Yes, we have a load of brain-dead drivers who do not know how to take account of the road conditions and who can"t work out how to drive in a little snow.
That aside, this is only the second prolonged (more than 3 days) period of cold weather this winter. Been windy, been wet, but been too warm for winter. Perhaps this will kill off a few bug pests before the new breeding season arrives.
Regards, RAB

Just got out of about a two week cold snap. Just in the last couple of days the temps have been fairly normal for here... of course the cold snap meant lows in the 30's and highs in the 40's and 50's. Yesterday was about 70, felt nice for a change...

Back home in ND it has been a warm winter with very little snow. Looks like another drought year for the farm, glad I took up a job in town with steady income and just farm on the side.

NW Co 14 inches snow on ground no wind, past two week average low minus 15 with a high of about 20 degrees. Currently at 29 degrees so may break freezing for the first time in over two weeks. Winter is fair typical to the long time averages, but much more than we've had in the past few years snow pack still is not up to the longtime average.

This winter is no good we got snow on Sunday 4.5 inches. They say it is going to get colder out this week into next week I think. This will give me chance to get the woods to clean up what the logger done in summer. Also with fixing tractors for other people a one of mine and all the other joys of farming.

Here in W. Pa., near Pittsburgh, up until 2 weeks ago, all the bushes and flowering plants were starting to bud! Now, today, its 30 D., s'posed to get cold here, too! About 2-3 inches on the ground, several snow squalls at times! Roads bare, from salt, although my son, who lives 25 miles north, called and said its snowing hard, 8 to 12 inches where he lives!

Turke, you must be someplace in MI, probably near the lake. Sounds like today and last night. Looks like the winters gonna go out real snowy and cold by the sound of it.

If"n he"s in SW Michigan, he"s gonna get lots of lake effect snows in the next few - maybe up to several inches at a time. Was down to 5 degrees last nite, is 6 degrees right now (8:00pm). You ought to see the ice chunks I broke out of the water troughs this morning, and I"m in CENTRAL Michigan.
