we got about two inches over here last night. did it miss you this time? i know alot of you "true" volunteers like to see this stuff, but this displaced yank has seen enuf of it for a lifetime...it's why i moved down here.

by the way, you're not a very sympathetic friend. guess i'll be painting walls today. biggest reason i'm in the doghouse is cuz i told "you know who" that the handle on that paint roller would fit her hand as well as it does mine. (never did learn how to keep the mouth shut)

saw a pic of irv's TO-20 on the post. got me wantin' to get mine in the shop. pretty nice. i bet you'll be itchin' to get some paint on yours after seeing that huh?

had about an inch or so West of Nashville. They closed all the schools for several counties around. Amazing, since back at the old home place it had to be knee-deep to close school.

ya,,,that still cracks me up when they close everything down here in tenn. just because of a little dusting of snow, after growing up in the snow belt in northern in. but after thinking about it, it sure keeps the kids here a whole lot safer than they kept us.

i remember the bus i was on sliding off the road and getting stuck in a ditch on the way to school one morning...we all cheered! didn't think about that we coulda been hurt or killed. funniest part of it was, the bus was stuck closer to the school than most of us had to walk to get to the bus stop from our houses, but we just sat there and waited a couple hours til they brought another bus to get us there.

We finally got some here in Nashville about an inch or a bit more. Makes the town look better and thins the traffic. Still rather live in the country though. I always compliment the wife on her painting jobs but fall out on other things I guess. <:(

hig...well i'm glad you got some snow over by nashville. my daughter in gallatin was wanting some...don't ask me why, i hate the stuff. i guess she thinks it's pretty.

whenever i compliment my wife she says thank you, but gives me that sideways look like she wonders what i'm up to or what i did wrong. i wonder what i did to make her that suspicious of me???? 80)

Yes, we got about 1 1/2 inches overnight. I enjoy seeing about two snows per winter, then give me springtime!

Have you ever noticed that wives really don't enjoy the finer points of humor. I think I have wasted some of my wittiest comments on my wife. Even this morning, she asked if I would like to go out and sweep her car off and start it for her. I replied that only the village idiot would LIKE leaving a hot cup of coffee to do that and I ranked myself at least one notch above that town position. Without blinking an eye, she asked if I would LIKE her to retire and let me go back to work. So, I picked up the broom, laid down my sense of humor, and let well enough alone.

I am truly impressed with Irv's tractor! Yes, it does make me impatient to get on with the program. I am like you, though, in that I sure don't want to fight all of that red dust when I attack the main body of the tractor. I guess that will be this coming week's project.

As to keeping the mouth shut, everytime I see Ron White do his comedy routine about being drunk and having the RIGHT to remain silent - but not the ABILITY, I wince a little bit because that just hits too close to home. And it doesn't take any alcohol to put me in that position - it's a natural born talent!

well larry...kept my mouth shut today. i just went ahead and picked up my roller and started priming the last walls i had to do, and guess who showed up with her own roller and started painting? do you think this means i'm out of the doghouse? i really can't tell. guess i'll have to wait and see what's for supper tonite...or IF there's supper tonite.

ah yes...ron white. i'll have to tell you a story about the "right to remain silient" someday if we ever get together. (actually...it's more a story of not having the ability) which reminds me...thought about makin' it over this way for that auction tomorrow in decaterville? i'll be there with my neighbor/partner/buddy. he's lookin' for a good 10' bush-hog. i have no idea what i'm lookin' for...guess i'll know it when i see it.

most our snow is gone, 'cept in the shadows. i hope that's the last of it. hey!! didn't you once say that you had a grandaughter that's never seen snow? i hope she got to play in it a little before it melted.

take care you villiage idiot,
from this villiage's idiot

Nah, I can't make it tomorrow. My son is paying back some work favors he owes to his hunting buddy. But hopefully we will get together at an auction or tractor show sometime in the near future.

Yes, I am the one with the notorius four-year old. I haven't had a chance to talk to her today, but I am interested in her reaction also. She is the one that, when she was three, her dad went by the daycare to pick her up. The lady told him she would have to go in and get her out of time-out. When she got in the truck, he asked her if she had been in time-out. She looked up, thought about it for a minute, and asked, "Daddy, did you see me in time-out?" No, was the answer. She thought a minute again and replied, "Well Daddy, if you didn't see me then I wasn't in time-out". I think I have the makings of a good country lawyer here!
