A couple of weeks ago i bought a used 1997 2500 GMC 4x4 with 50k for mileage. It has Royal Purple oil in it. Does anyone on here know anything about this stuff? Since it has synthetic in it now i was thinking with replacing it with Mobile 1. Just wanting some opinions.

Royal purple is a good oil. I don't know that I would say that it was better than Mobil 1 though. They test the same..... ....

Royal Purple is a great oil. Perhaps better than Mobil 1. Any true synthetic oil is very high detergent so you should be just fine to change over.Just drain good and shouldn't have to flush. On any oil change I like to drain over night. You'd be surprised how much oil drips out if you have time to let it drip. Synthetic oil clings to the walls so well it takes time to drain it well.
