How do you guys relax and take off the edge of a day? I sometimes start up my 49' JD "A" and drive it around. How about you guys, do you do the same?

Go cut a load of firewood if it"s winter. Figure going to the woods alone is about like fishing, God doesn"t subtract that time from you alloted lifespan. Besides it"s a good excuse to start of the old Deeres and go for a ride. Summers are too busy to relax.
Paul

It"s your non concern for others that probably brings on the latter problem. Just a thought.

I really don't know the meaning of that word. About the only way I can relax is to go far away from home with my wife because I'm surrounded by my work and worries here. Just about any farmer can relate to that. My wife, who is a career teacher and the ultimate work-aholic, retired from a highly stressful job last november and now she just sits around reading a book, completely burned out. When you burn the candle on both ends it's gonna burn out twice as fast! We plan to hop in the car soon and just go! Jim

When I need to relax, I spend quality time with my wife, anticipating her every need, and making sure there is NOTHING left undone on the "honey-do" list.

YEAH, RIGHT!

butch...as weird as it sounds, i love to get on my tractor and do monotonous things like bush-hog one of my fields. something about going round and round with my little TO-35 purring in my ear on a nice afternoon, is kind of theraputic. it gives me a chance to think about things and notice my surroundings.

if i can't get out on my tractor, just hanging around in my shop by myself, tinkering with whatever i have down there to tinker with, focuses my mind on that thing on off whatever else is going on that might be bugging me.

just my ways...
-mike

Did up till last May when my back went completely out on me. Had surgury early June and got back to work 15 Dec. Just waiting for the weather to dry up some so I can get through my yard without leaving ruts to start all over again. Grandson (6) years old loves riding and driving them too. Course, he still gets lots of supervision and hands on training. PS: Mine are allis"s though, but old tractors is great relaxation, regardless of color or brand. God Bless.

Hook up the "custom built' hay-ride wagon to the ole '50 "JD B" , load it up with freinds and family and tour the country back roads and visit some of the old farms where I was raised and farmed. (in the summer of course) Winter? Ice fishin'!
