I heard a add on TV in April for high speed dial up for $10.95 per month.

For sure no one speeks English, perhaps never heard the word English i'm guessing.

They asked if I had free dial up for Ma- Ma ---Ma--- Ma -- I said Marquette? ---yes Marquette.

After a hr or two I called back and discovers they were refering to Maquokata Ia. This is a Hr and half from here and long distance call area. So I canceled them back(by phone)

My total fault for not checking my debit card statment ---finaly last month I did, and they have done the $10.95 per month since April.

After total frustration and asking for a English speaking person, non exsistant totaly--and a constant bull crap of a tec will call me and for my inconveniance they will give me a CD tutor for $5.00.

Not to bad of a price, and after the third or fourth person I got the message that they were mailing me three different CD's at full price, and I could return two in a week or whatever---and on and on and on.

I shouted for numerous times (after origanaly saying yes) to the $5.00 that I did not want the deal of three etc. just the one only for $5.00.

Then I realized a scam so I said do not send me any at all if that was the (scam) by the fine print being anounced after the original agreement.

After talking to several, and I do mean several idiots I said that a tecnition had nothing to do with my problem as I had no dial up etc.

I wanted a total refund as it was origanly impossible from the start to have had dial up from them. I did call after the first hr or two when I signed up in April and they took my credit card number.

The final answer is they can refund the last month---And that was their final answer.

Oh yea baby I'm ticked off, and know that a attorney will cost more than it is worth.

Yes, I could be the next guy to sit way up on a tower naked above a play ground with a high powered rifle. Ok maybe not that extreem, but dang I'm ticked off. I'm so mad I'm repeating myself.

Any Ideas that does not contain the words, gun, bomb, choke, public horse whipping, or gang raping? Thanks in advance NE IA Dave

I would make a complaint to the better business bureau they have been after some phone companys this last year doing bad business. Also I realize it may cost too much but did you play the bluff that if they don"t refund your money you are going to hire a lawyer. ps your in maruette I am by guttenberg.

I had Peoplepc for about a year - got it through AARP. It was OK but not great. AARP is still advertising it so maybe a call to AARP could generate some pressure on them.

We almost had the same problem with PeoplePC.com! My wife talked with them and told them it sounded good, but to check with me when I got home from work. We live in a small town and it is hard to get internet service with a local number.

When they called it was someone I could barely understand. Noone available who could speak fluent english. They told me they had a local number and a special deal for 3 months. I was almost ready to sign up, but then I thought maybe I should check their local access number to be sure.

I was told they did not have this number on hand and could not give it to me. I told them I would not sign up until they gave me the local access number to verify. We went round-and-round for 30 minutes or so before I was so mad I hung up. Found out the next day there is no local access number from these &*%holes!

As always, buyer beware!

Has anyone tried this web sites? badbusinessbureau.com and ripoffreport.com.

I have heard there are numerous companies after their hides in the courts. One never knows if it is ok or just big money and big attornies after the pain in their rears.

Thanks for the advise, and for sure the one about inserting their disk as they did send me one. I did not trust them so it just sits here.

A major problem with getting back is a total lack of time during most legal and government office hours. Yea, sadly enough I have a job, and loosing wages to play phone tag etc. isn't a profitable game. Cell phones in our area is the most popular way of us folks getting exercise----running to a different location for reception. My experiance with the court system, and also government agencies is a comedy side show at best. Talk about alot of smoke being blown up our butts, as well as how overworked / justified wages etc.on and on we go. How can our country continue with this total crap of justice ? I kind of think most government agencies are like our automated phone systems. Seldom do you speak with a real person, and never a person who realy gives a rats behind about your problem. That is if they are ever in their office, or return your call. Saddly enough justice gives way to maybe a I best move on attitude.

I should wise up to any advertizment stating a bargin. Good Lord knows the weight loss TV adds must not all be true. And our government has never stepped on any toes. Like the saying goes, just been robbed by a guy with a brief case.

Thanks again for all the help

It seems the only reliable way to get People PC to stop charging is to cancel the credit card. But you might have luck by disputing the charge in writing to your credit card company. The last time I did that, I got a phone call from the president of the company I was complaining about and we resolved the matter quickly in my favor. That was a case of double billing and shipping once. Enough complaints from credit card users and a company can loose its credit card machine and accounts.

Talk to your state attorney general about this, they can at least check to see if some kind of fraud has been committed against you and maybe get you a full refund

You could notify your area/state Better Business Bureau. They can do wonders.

Chock it up as another experience and go on. You darn lucky you didn"t infect your computer with a virus - or maybe you did and don"t realize it. I thought I would try their program on one of my computers a year or so ago to check it out. The damned disk came to me with a virus. I caught it when loading. So a word to the wise. It"s cheap and that"s what you get - nothing.
