Mann, O mann,
I sure wish i had a good friend to help me out with my tractor,s like alot of younger guy,s I see out there with thier Dad,s, or uncle,s or Grandad,s.
No one in my family will help me cause their too busy or dont care, or both,
both parent,s are passed on, and sister is nothing to spaek of in colo spng,s,
Uncle or aunt?????
well..... forget that.
He made a big stink over the Case when I traded a 26 Ford T for it, equal value, equal trade,So,, forget that he really blew it as he was telling people at the corner gas station that I got ripped off,and making a mockery over it,
When that Case is a much better deal, Making me look bad in front of the people at the station when It was my Model T in the 1st place and none of his business anyway,
Turn,s out all he wanted was for me to ask him to get the T before this other guy that i let it go to,
he was put off and he was telling me that i was wrong to not ask him in the 1st place
Ive got these two tractor,s like the case 2670, and that W-6 farmall, also a ihc 3-16 plow and a JD lister planter,
I look at them and wanna redo them bad but have no one to help me with the hard stuff,
and no one to ask either as no one is into anything in this town except being a know it all,and talking BS all the time,
If anyone feel,s this way,
Please get back to me on this as I really understand what it feel,s like to have a person help you that likes to help and is wanting to do it cause he likes it and not just being paid for it,
Women Included as ive see alot of ladies out
there that like this stuff and are a really big help on alot of the thing,s that us men cant do,
A lady that like,s tractor,s and thing,s like this is a SUPER BIG BLESSING,AND SHE IS VALUUABLE
TO HER FRIEND,S, AS WELL AS HER HUBBY OR BOYFRIEND.
I would love to have something like this but alas,Ive never seen anything like that around
here,
Family,s, arggggh, who need,s them?
Kind of a bummer!

Putting all this tractor stuff aside for a minute, I am getting the impression that you are painting yourself as a "victim" and your post is nothing more than a "victim statement". Anyone that does that will have a hard time getting me to listen to their tale of woe. My suggestion is to take on whatever you wish to take on but quit blaming others. It appears as if all of this is someone else's fault and maybe you've left something out. No offense meant, just a suggestion on the obstacles you seem to build for yourself.

Some important lessons I have learned. You pick your friends (or they pick you ) but you can"t pick your family.

Friends come and go, but enemys accumulate.

Casual friends are the ones that come and go. Friends who you go through rough times with stay forever. Fraternity brothers who whent through the hazing that was normal in the early 70"s. for instance. 30 years later we are close. Military friends, especially if you were in combat and watched each others back. If you are sick or lose a parent, the people who come do the chores for you or bring food to the house. Those are the real friends.

Kirk you have a couple hundred buddies here on this web site. We will all be more than willing to help a felow buddie out. Sometimes because of the generation gap and language differances we don't understand a few things so try do be detailed. For most of us youth has been a long time ago. If you ask a question be prepared for a rude coment by a few of these old guys that wake up every morning looking for a argument. Just so you understand that will be just a few of them and we have to forgive them as we do not walk in their shoes.
Now for the girl's who like tractors, Well you are on your own on this one guy as we are generous with help we would all be your competition on this one I'm afraid. However you have the advantage of youth, so you will probably win this one hands down and all of us old guys will be grumpy. Just kidding, and there is alot of that goes on here, so never be offended. Good luck on both issues, and it takes a real man to overlook some one else even if they are dumb and mean, and need a swift kick in the back axle.

One thing a person should always try to avaoid is mixing business and money transactions with family. Most of the time one guy or the other is sour because they got ripped off (or so they think) and then there is hard feelings. Sounds like you got the hard feelings anyway....

I helped my dad out alot, of course now its more like him helping me maintain the equipment, but it's still his farm and I just love doing what I've grown up doing. Something I'llalways have good memories of.

I go tlucky and my fiance likes the country life and she has a horse. I'll try my damdest to not be just a horse farmer, but if that's all I can ever get I'll be fine with it, as long as I have a chunk of land to call my own and spend time on my tractors.

Not too far from where I live there is a tractor club. where people of all ages meet to work on farm equipement. If you could find something like that around where you live I am sure you will find someone willing to help you on your projects. As for the trade it was your Model T, looks like you could do what you wish. stan

The wife (who WANTED to live on a farm) quickly got over it. My older sons, one of whom LOVED to be at the shop with me have moved on to OTHER important things in their lives, but my 7-y-o still enjoys the farm and the shop. He tells me that, unlike his brothers, he always will.

So I'm enjoying the good times with Noah. I have a couple of good friends who like to come over and reminise, or watch me "play" with my lathe, or other "toys", and, on occasion, even help out a bit. Even my B-I-L, who was busy keeping up with his woman for quite a while has been coming around more lately.

Life is GOOD at the shop, at least for now!

(Only bad thing is I can't enjoy a few "barley pops" with the old friends like I used to!)

A 7yo that knows what he wants? Don't scoff. I knew what I wanted when I was 7.
