Has anybody ever heard of or tried using winter windshield washer for weighting tires. A couple of the locals say it works as well as calcium but it doesn't eat the rim.

I've used regulat green antifreeze.

plain H2O would freeze making the ride real uncomftorable in the winter.

To cut costs you can dilute the solution so it just becomes slush as 0F or so. Depending of course where you are in Ontario.

Use it on all of our tractors. Yes, it weighs less but not enough so as you'd notice. BUT--doesn't eat up rims. We went to Wal-Mart and cut a deal but had to promise the manager that we weren't buying it for resale.

Been useing it for years now and it works well just doesn't weigh as much as the CACL does. One my Ford 841 one tire is full of CACL and the other wiper fluid and I can't tell you which is which any more so the weight differance can't be all that much

Have heard of several folks doing it. This is a neat link that lays out the weight you can hope to gain using water for a variety of tire sizes. Should be the pretty similar with a mixture of windshield washer fluid.

Many use straight water. You can try it in Canada.

I use it in my garden tractors. It isn't the heaviet of fluids available, but it still works well and it is readily available.

Lots of folks post about using washer fluid for for ballast and it apparently works well.

However it weighs a lot less per gallon than calcium chloride mx.
