Hi, I finally got around to draining all the fluids on my 52 wd. I knew water was an issue since it sat for years without a shifter boot on it. The fluids came out super milky which is expected, but should I flush it with something or fill it with 80w and run it all summer and change it again in the fall? Thanks for your help with this.

I was thing about using diesel fuel, the one worry I had was if there was some left in pockets in the transmission would it break down the 80-90w gear lube?

I would put a mix of ethanol (or isopropel alcohol) and diesel in the trans then jack one wheel and block it to idle the system for 5 min. Then drain for two hours and fill with new gear oil. JimN
