Take a look at Happy Vally Ranch website, www.happyvalleyranch.com. They sell press assembled and in kit form. I have one and have had good luck with it. They are a little pricey but they"re built to last.

I only have a few trees, so I just have mine pressed at a local mill. It"s getting harder to find someone to do it anymore, but the amount of equipment you need is not very practical unless you have quite a bit. I usually end up giving half of it away to the neighbors, the other half I make into Applejack which is necessary when the weather is as it has been the last few days. Abushel of apples will make about 3-4 gallons of cider.

I have a really old one that I restored and took to the public schools to make cider for the kids.
You put the wooden slat thingy under a grinder and grind the apples into it then slide it forward and a screw is turned down to press it.
Cider falls out the front. To be safe I REALLY cleaned up the small slat barrels and the wood drip platform I lined with plastic. You never know where an antique has been sitting over the years and it is hard to enjoy the cider if you get to thinkin the barn cats/bats/rats have been using it for a toilet for 60 years.

I make my own wine...So I got a wine press wich is about the same thing. Research wine making stores in your area. If no luck email me and I can put you in touch with my local store. Im sure he will do mail order. Happy Easter!

Cider press

I have a factory made unit that has been in storage for twenty years. I can take some pictures. It is hand operated with a long and heavy ratchet bar, cast iron base, and wood slats for the barrel. I think it will handle a bushel of pomace (ground up apples) per squeeze. I never used it as I made a hydraulic press. I might sell that too.

Either one will be expensive to ship. I am in Tewksbury, MA 01876.
